Today is all India bandh! What does it mean, well 9 of the major trade unions have called for an all India strike today to protest against price rise and other issues like disinvestment of public sector, retrenchment and entry of foreign capital in retail market.
I mean since I have been here there have been so many bandh's that I am beginning to wonder the the point of a public holiday is. With all these bandh's who needs additional vacation time. Its either regional called by political parties, one day one party will call for the strike, the next day it will be the opposition party calling for a strike. Its amazing, at times it will be all parties together.
dont even think about going out to too many places during a bandh, you can get your car broken :). Most times its only 12 hours once business hours are over people are out shopping like its black Friday and you will get the best deals :). I dont understand why the government employees support this since they hardy do much work anyway! Oh well that's my opinion. Lets see if any prices actually go down, so far my experience in the last three months and 10 or 11 bandh's in total..... POINTLESS and a WASTE OF TIME!
I think they should make it for people who want to do it and not affect the billions lost a day from these bandhs. Those who decide to participate and support this can take a vacation or personal day and have a peaceful demonstration. I don't think its a mutual decision of all the billion plus people living in this country. You have to loose some for your cause..... Or am I wrong? You cant have your cake and eat it too!!!!!!!!!!!!
