Didn't realize that it's been over two months since I posted something. Anyway things have changed somewhat around here. First there is a new government after several decades and so far they seem to be doing a good job. Though I hear the new government is working on turning Kolkata into New London..... Very ambitious and I have to say good luck, there is a long way to go!
I think the best part is that traffic is a little more under control, more like 5% of the mess has been sorted. There is also regular street cleaning crew, cleaning up Kolkata, though you can hear them working slower than sloths and complaining about their rate of pay, but at least they have brand new florescent yellow vest to make sure they stand out and people actually see them working. It's actually quite funny and one has to be around here to experience it :).
Lets see...... there are a few more changes and I think one of the major ones it that I am finally getting used to working like a crazy person. After all, I have to start following the Kolkata tradition and save, even if I have to live in a house thats about to fall on my head. I am not saying I do live in one, but its the general mentality.
So far I've had friends visit from abroad, and family flying in for weddings, which has been fun, though I haven't been able to spend much time with them. I have tried out a few good restaurants and actually found quite a good one, right behind Colombia Asia in Kolkata. Ont only are they clean, but they have a good menu. Anyway I am going to stop talking about food before I get carried away as I think I am gaining weight by the minute.
Other changes are in the air, but until there is more confirmation, I will refrain from mentioning anything. So here is just a little catching up. Hopefully I will post more frequently, but that too depends on time.
